THE FINCHES PLATFORM

A platform that captures field-level ground truth, connects it to your specs and the world around, and turns it into supplier-specific risk alerts.

Already deployed. Already going further.

One intelligence layer.
Four depths.

THE PLATFORM

Finches captures the moment in the field, consolidates it across your supply base, reasons over it with weather, specs and the world around it, and acts on it with your team in control. Each layer compounds on the one before.

Five capabilities that cut across the platform.

WHAT MAKES IT WORK

The technology that makes Finches Finches. Built for sourcing teams, agronomists and CFOs.

01 · CAPTURE

From spoken observation to structured record. In seconds.

An agronomist walks a field and talks. Finches Field listens to your voice, even offline. Photos, videos and notes attach to the right plot. By the time she is back in the car, the visit is structured into a searchable, audit-ready report.

No forms to fill. No transcripts to clean up. No data lost between the field and the desk.

The knowledge that used to die in a WhatsApp thread or a notebook now stays with the supplier, the variety and the season. In your records.

02 · INTELLIGENCE FOUNDATION

Software that knows spinach from ginger.

Most sourcing tools treat data as generic rows and columns. Finches is built on an agricultural proprietary data model: We structure crops, varieties, plots, contracts, lab measurements and the conditions that affect them.

A Brix reading on grapes is not the same as on tomatoes. A frost in week 12 means something different for spinach than for almonds. Our system knows the difference.

Alerts are specific, queries return real answers, and the same platform that handles spinach in Murcia handles cocoa in Ghana without rewriting the rules.

03 · QUERY

Plain language across your entire supply base.

No dashboards to configure. No SQL. No analyst queue. Type or speak the question, get the answer, with the underlying data one click away.

Ask the same way you would ask a colleague who happens to know every plot, every contract and every visit by heart.

Sourcing teams move at the speed of their question, not the speed of a BI ticket.

04 · REASON

Where your data meets the world.

Internal contracts, yields and lab reports meet weather forecasts, regulatory shifts, market signals, pest outbreaks, news and geopolitics. Finches connects them to your specific supplier and your specifications.

Patterns that no human can hold in their head, made visible the moment they form.

Most sourcing risk tools stop at the region. Finches stops at the supplier, at the variety, inside the contract.

05 · ACT

Intelligence becomes execution.
Your team stays in control.

When risk is detected, agents draft the next step. Reroute volumes when a corridor closes. Generate supplier briefings. Trigger compliance checks. Propose contract amendments.

Every action auditable. Every decision approvable. The operative layer of the platform.

Faster response without ceding control. Finches proposes. Your team decides.

IN THE FIELD

When the platform earns its keep.

A walkthrough of how the four layers work together on a real-feeling sourcing scenario. Names are illustrative. The mechanics are not.

  • On a Tuesday morning in early April, an agronomist visits two of the four suppliers. On three of nine plots she records short voice notes describing yellowing on lower leaves and a faint white coating on the underside. Four photos attached. By the time she is at the next farm, the visit reports are structured, attached to the right plots and uploaded.

  • Back at HQ, the Quality Lead opens the Murcia map view. Three plots are flagged. Yesterday's lab feed shows nitrate readings drifting upward on the same plots. Last year, this combination preceded downy mildew outbreaks across the region. The pattern is now sitting on a single screen.

  • The reasoning engine pulls the next 10 days of weather: above-average humidity, three forecast rain events, daytime temperatures climbing into the window where downy mildew accelerates. It connects this to the Q2 contract: 22% of the contracted volume is now flagged at elevated risk of failing quality spec. A personalised alert lands with the Sourcing Lead, including two response pathways. One is a known alternative supplier in Puglia with uncommitted capacity.

  • The agent drafts three things: a supplier briefing for the affected Murcia growers, a re-allocation proposal with the Italian alternative, and a procurement memo for internal review. Each draft is auditable. Each decision is approvable. The Sourcing Lead opens the re-allocation, adjusts the volume split, clicks send.

THE OUTCOME

Three weeks of decision time. Enough to GET THE BEST PRICE AT THE SPOT MARKET, line up AN alternative supplier, and protect the Q2 delivery at market rates instead of crisis rates.
Procurement walks into the next review with a plan, not a problem.

Four products.
One platform.
